Everyone is so busy anymore, especially if you are a mother and a wife. We all are running around like crazy doing everything that needs to be done for our families. Most days it feels like there is just not enough hours or minutes in the day to accomplish everything that has to be done. As a woman it is natural for most of us to try to do everything for everyone else, but often neglecting our own needs. I’ll tell you there a lot days my tank feels like it most definitely is on empty, and the thought of trying to do anything else, even if it is for myself, is an exhausting thought. However, it is so important for us to take time for ourselves. To fill up our own tanks and make sure that our own mental and physical health is flourishing, which in turn also helps when it does come time to take care of our families. This is something we should never neglect, but unfortunately most women do.
This past Christmas my oldest daughter gave me a devotional that I have actually fallen in love with. The book is the The Confident Woman devotionals by Joyce Meyer. It is a daily devotional that focuses on a lot of the common issues and concerns that women face on a daily basis. Everyday the devotional has a different topic that it touches on and then ends with a prayer after each one. It covers a variety of topics such as self-image, relationships, taking care of yourself, and many others. One of the best things about this devotional is the length of the subject each day. It covers the topics very well, but does it in a very small paragraph so when you sit down to do the devotional it doesn’t take much of your time at all. I love this!!! Even though most days I do try to sit down and have quiet time with God, read my bible, and journal, but when I can’t get that time I reach for this devotional. So this book is perfect !! I know I can get some time in with God, and feed my soul no matter what time constraints I may have that day.
I highly encourage everyone to go and buy this book for themself, their friends, their mothers, their co-workers, or anyone you might think could use a little quick motivation and inspiration. My daughter purchased this book on amazon, and I know there are several other locations where this book can be picked up. I plan on purchasing a few more copies myself to be given away for gifts as well. It is always so rewarding when we give things to other women that can potentially help them grow their relationship with God, as well as help them take a little breath from the demands that come with each passing day. It is so fun to love on others and also help them love on themselves. Again, I encourage each of you to take a little time for yourself everyday. Take a little time to talk to God, and rejuvenate your soul. You will not be sorry, I promise!!
I hope each of you are covered with many blessings today.
Love and hugs,
